Every job starts with a checklist that addresses the pruning objectives, our standard prune checklist is as follows:

​

1. Remove dead, dying, diseased and/or broken limbs

2. Reduce the weight of the tips of limbs to reduce chance of storm breaks, selectively remove lateral limbs that could potentially break under snow loads, open the inner canopy to reduce wind sail effects and allow light for surrounding flora.

3. Improve overall shape of canopy, i.e. remove downward pointing limbs, criss-cross limbs, and promote upward growth.

4. Provide clearance to structures and utilities, typically 4 ft where possible. Provide clearance to neighboring trees where appropriate. Provide clearance above streets, driveways, and walkways.

5. All cuts and overall pruning done according to ANSI-A300 standards (The International Society of Arboriculture Best management Practices – Tree Pruning).

6. Thorough cleanup and removal of all materials from site.
